Mum, 36, cancelled life insurance to save money, two months later she learned she had cancer

An Auckland mum cancelled a life insurance policy she’d had for 10 years to reduce financial stress, but just a few months later she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Adele Baker joked to her husband when she cancelled, “It’s not like I’m going to die, is it?”

And then the bad news came when she was told she had incurable stage 4 bowel cancer, with just six months to live.
