Chris Boon
Managing Director, Financial Adviser
Chris has spent more than a decade working personally with clients as well as training advisers, throughout the country, on how to professionally provide individuals, families and businesses with tailor-made Personal and Business Insurance Plans that meet their unique circumstances and needs. Through his training, coaching and mentoring Chris has helped many advisers to develop very successful insurance careers. Adelphi Insurance Brokers Ltd comes out of Chris’s vision to create a customer-focused insurance brokerage that helps clients through every step of the process, from quote to claim.
Andrea Phillips
General Manager, Financial Adviser
Andrea is our dynamic, efficient and super organised General Manager. Since she first entered the workforce, Andrea has worked as an administrator or office manager for a number of very successful companies. Whether it’s working with the Insurance Companies, Head of Claims or working directly with clients, Andrea is highly organised, always keeping up to date with the advice process. Andrea has a unique understanding of client needs and is always there to lend a helping hand from quote to claim.

Chris Goddard
Financial Adviser, Insurance Specialist
Chris is a vastly experienced adviser devoting the last decade to helping individuals, families and small business owners develop personalised insurance plans to meet their individual circumstances and needs. Chris is a Financial Adviser whose unique skill is making insurance simple and easily understood. He is as passionate about classic cars as he is about ensuring people have the right insurance cover in place for when they need it the most – claim time – and Chris will be right there with a helping hand when that time comes.
Michael Boon
Financial Adviser, Insurance Specialist
Michael has returned to New Zealand after spending 24 years working in senior management roles in London. His experience includes managing eight different Stations for London Underground tasked with ensuring the safety of commuters as they moved through the different Stations (over one billion people a year use London Underground). Michael is now a Financial Adviser living in Canterbury and is passionate about ensuring people’s financial wellbeing and providing Personal Insurance Plans to meet their personal circumstances and unique needs.
Nic Young
Financial Adviser, Insurance Specialist
Returning to Taranaki from Wellington four years ago, Nic moved his family back to take advantage of the wonderful opportunities that the region provides. Passionate about customer service and helping people, Nic has nine years of experience as a mortgage and insurance adviser. He is looking forward to developing a long and rewarding career with Adelphi Insurance Brokers and helping individuals and families make informed decisions about their Health and Risk insurance needs. Outside of work, Nic is keenly involved in restoring and conserving antique furniture and owns the Old Cheese Factory in Te Roti, which he is slowly restoring, hoping to preserve a little of Taranaki’s history.
Angela Basford

Angela is a Financial Adviser based in sunny Napier. Having recently moved back to NZ after 13 years living in Australia, Angela is passionate about helping individuals, families, and business owners protect their most valuable asset – their ability to earn income. Along with her three young boys, Angela enjoys the ocean, kayaking, bush walks and mountain biking.
Andrew de Vine

Andrew’s passion has always been in health & well-being. After completing degrees in exercise physiology and biomechanics, over the past 10 years, Andrew built a successful business working alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors and surgeons designing and implementing injury rehabilitation programs and high performance training. Looking for a new challenge Andrew discovered the Life, Health and Risk protection profession where his enthusiasm for meeting people, understanding their goals and needs and designing an optimal plan to meet these needs has allowed him to help more people.
Foster van Gruting
Financial Adviser, Insurance Specialist
Foster is an experienced Financial Adviser who has worked in the insurance, financial and legal industries for over 30 years, both in New Zealand and overseas. He is motivated to use his extensive skills and life experiences when he advises and guides his clients toward achieving their own financial goals, assisting them with protecting what is important to them and their most precious possession – their families. Having worked for a large trustee organisation in New Zealand, Foster has a great understanding when it comes to estate planning, including the requirements when setting up a personal will. One of the wildest activities Foster ever did was jumping into the famous Devil’s pool on the narrow edge of the Victoria falls in Zambia.
Dr. Niroshini (Nina) Giles
Financial Adviser, Insurance Specialist
Nina is a Financial Adviser living in Dunedin. She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the U.K., followed by a postgraduate qualification in Total Quality Management. Nina has been actively involved in cancer research at major universities in the USA, Australia and New Zealand, and has also worked as a Medical Recruitment Adviser for the Southern District Health Board. Nina’s commitment to people’s wellbeing has now moved to a personalised and community-based role with Adelphi, where she enjoys assisting individuals
with important insurance decisions, helping them to protect themselves and their loved ones from life’s unexpected changes. In her free time Nina enjoys painting, swimming, and skiing with her family in Queenstown.
Tony Burnet
Financial Adviser, Insurance Specialist
Tony is an Insurance Specialist living in the beautiful Coromandel. He has run his own businesses for the last 30 years. During that time he was involved in spear-heading global initiatives for Shell.
He has be involved in recruiting staff off-shore through NZ Immigration for many years and has a keen understanding of moulding a team from diverse backgrounds. More recently he has operated a Staff Training and Development Company operating both in NZ and overseas.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his clients, particularly in the area of personal and business protection.
Andrew Wilkinson
Financial Adviser, KiwiSaver and Retirement Specialist
Andrew is a Financial Adviser who, since graduating from Victoria University in 2013, has already had substantial exposure to the financial services industry, working across insurances, mortgages, investments and financial planning. Andrew brings a fresh perspective to financial advice and seeks to share his knowledge to as wide of an audience as possible – whether it’s the younger demographics interested in investing for the best future possible, or the older generations looking to ensure their lump sums are carefully protected and nurtured. As his journey in financial services continued, he found himself most interested in long-term investing, and was a natural fit to become a specialist in the KiwiSaver/Retirement sector of financial advice. While he began as a KiwiSaver adviser at Adelphi, his role has now expanded to also advising on a large base of existing retirement funds (currently called the Lifetime Superannuation Master Trust – previously the AMP SMT). Andrew is passionate about ensuring that all of his clients are well looked after and have a full, and total understanding of their options when it comes to retirement and the best path to take to maximise their investment.
Ian Piercy

Ian is a Financial Adviser – Insurance Specialist based in the South Island. He has a bachelor’s degree in Applied Management. Ian and his wife, Yvette are now working together as partners in their own business within the Insurance Industry, creating a power couple that are focused on getting you the right cover to protect your financial security. Having been self-employed for much of his working life Ian has experience in the dairy and tourism industries and has also held various positions in the corporate world. Yvette’s experience in corporate roles and tourism has allowed her to utilise her expertise in administration and business practises that are crucial for success in the Insurance Industry and vital to their business. Ian and Yvette both have a high level of business acumen. Ian spent many years in the military as an army officer which has shaped him into a very disciplined and efficient person who does what he says he will do. He is a graduate of the Australian War College. Ian and Yvette gain a lot of pleasure out of assisting others and have a focus on protecting what is important to you and your family. Planning is the key to securing your financial future and Ian and Yvette are excited to be able to help their clients achieve this.
Ryan Verwey

Ryan is a young professional based in Christchurch, hailing from an Aviation background. He is an avid flyer, enjoying taking both friends and families up to the skies. Following his passion for people and the finance sector, Ryan strives for nothing less than excellence and bettering himself along with the quality of advice he provides to his clients. He is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Financial Planning through Massey University. Passionate and driven, Ryan aims to create long term relationships with his clients and work around their goals and needs as he believes when they succeed, so does he.
Andy Kinchella

Andy is our Waikato based insurance specialist, originally hailing from Whanganui. Andy has vast experience regarding ACC claims & business insurance policies inclusive of detailed experience surrounding the public systems elective surgery and treatment injury claims processing. Andy has worked alongside numerous companies with reference to ACC’s CoverPlus Extra business-built program, receiving complimentary feedback and providing sound advice. Having worked as a Senior Representative on behalf of ACC, Andy has a large arsenal of knowledge pertaining to ACC and the public health system, Andy is an innovative problem solver and is passionate about helping you achieve optimum Insurance cover for you and your loved ones.

Matthew Rule
Financial Adviser, Insurance Specialist
Matthew is a Financial Adviser based in Auckland. He is an ex tradie who after retraining earnt a bachelor’s degree in business majoring in Human Resource Management and Management. He has spent over 12 years in the Financial Services industry where he has worked in small businesses through to large accounting firms providing specialist risk advice for individuals and businesses. Outside of work Matthew is a keen amateur Crossfitter, gamer and dog walker.
Steven Parsons
General Manager, Adviser Support
Steven Parsons (Moses) has been in the technology industry since 1988, financial services since 1994 and working with Financial Advisers since 1996 via insurance companies and broker groups with a specific focus on CRM and Tablet Technology. Steve gets his Moses nickname from delivering Tablet technology to Financial Advisers since 2004 and in fact this is how he and Chris Boon first met. Fast forward to today, Steve and Chris are working together to seek out and source leading-edge technology that supports advisers and adviser businesses in all areas of their business i.e. compliance and regulation, CRM, workflow management and lead generation to name a few. Steve’s passion is to help enable a Financial Adviser’s to run their day to day business more efficiently and profitably. As General Manager of Adelphi Support Limited (Moses calls it The Alliance), he is excited about building a network of like-minded professional advisers who enjoy being able to get on with and build their businesses.

Sonia Caird

Sonia joined Adelphi Insurance Brokers in November 2018 after restructuring her clothing business to an online model due to the Canterbury Earthquakes. Building on her experiences, over the last 27 years, as a successful businesswoman, Sonia moved into the role of Compliance Officer, which fits nicely with her keenness for compliance and accuracy. Outside of Adelphi, Sonia enjoys the gym and catching up with family and friends.
Abbey Gantley
Customer Contact Centre Team Leader
Abbey looks after Adelphi’s Customer Contact Centre from Head Office in Christchurch. She has a passion to ensure people have their health and insurance needs covered, ensuring our team are asking the right questions and offering the best possible customer service. Whether it’s leading Adelphi's Outbound Calling Team, or the Customer Care Team, Abbey is organised, efficient and highly professional. A dynamic and bubbly personality, ensures dealing with Abbey is a positive, outcomes focused communication. Outside of work Abbey spends as a much time as possible with her two children.
Thomas Marshall
Customer Contact Centre Team Member
Thomas grew up in Oxford North Canterbury where he became involved in all aspects of rural life. Moving into Central Christchurch for High School and obtaining a Certificate in Commerce from the University of Canterbury he then aimed to pursue a career in Customer Service and Sales. Working alongside Customer Contact Centre Team Leader Abbey Gantley, Thomas takes great satisfaction in delivering fantastic service and outcomes for Adelphi’s valued clients and appreciates working for the insurance brokerage so many New Zealanders trust. As most in Adelphi’s Head Office will know Thomas is an avid Crusaders and All Blacks supporter and loves nothing more than waking up in the early morning to watch a big test match. Thomas loves the culture and inclusivity at Adelphi and is excited to be apart of Adelphi Insurance Brokers future growth.
Stuart Wilkinson
Admin and IT Support
Stuart is a graduate in Computer Science with a passion for technology. He is an IT Support and Data Admin professional, utilising his technical expertise to help optimise systems and resolve any issues that may arise. Stuart is skilled in troubleshooting and has a strong understanding of both hardware and software components. He is also experienced in managing databases, ensuring that data is properly organised and secure. With his strong work ethic and technical abilities, Stuart is committed to delivering exceptional service to his clients. He takes pride in his work and is always eager to take on new challenges and learn new skills.
